If only two of the 10 largest cities in the U.S. are growing, what does that mean for your local demand?
You see, population rank tells you who is big.
But, population change tells you what may happen next.
Market Intelligence Talking Points
The total U.S. population has grown by +2.04%. (Comparing 5-year ACS 2024 & 2019)
Fort Worth overtook the 10th spot which was held by Jacksonville, FL.
No city (other than Fort Worth) moved up or down in rank, however only 2 of the most populated cities showed population increases. concerning!!!
NYC: Down -0.95%
LA: Down -3.07%
Chicago: Up +0.64%
Houston: Down -0.75%
Phoenix: Down -1.08%
Philadelphia: Down -0.28%
San Antonio: Down -4.36%
San Diego: Down -2.41%
Dallas: Down -2.65%
Fort Worth: Up +5.89%
4 of the most populated cities in the U.S. are in Texas.
They are also the greatest with Hispanic share.
San Antonio - 64.6%
Houston - 44.2%

This is the level of market interpretation I help franchise owners and marketing leaders build on alongside their existing teams, using population shifts and demographic concentration to think more intelligently about local demand before blind spots become a direct threat to the business’s future.
